SETUP REQUIRED - BEFORE LAB (IDEALLY)

If you have time before class, down-load the Arduino IDE from: http://www.arduino.cc/  

Read "Getting Started" and follow the instructions.

Go to the Downloads page and get the latest  (Arduino 0018) for  your OS.

Note that it is also available on Google Code.

When we used the Arduino with Processing, the board already had a program loaded called Firmata.  All the sersors and LEDs were controlled from Processing. In this lab, we will program the Arduino directly, replacing Firmata.

ANIMATED BOX - SOLDER & HOT MELT

The main point of the lab is to learn some skills:

1. basic box building with Foam Core and hot-melt glue.

2. simple soldering in place of solder-less bread-board.
